As a musician, over the years I have seen people give up playing - even the talented ones. There may be many reasons for that, but I hate to think it's because it's boring and not that interesting, because it doesn't have to be that way. Over the short lifetime of SLCO we have come along way and I know we can aspire to make music fun for everyone!
I have always loved music and started with the Piano at 6 then the Clarinet & Sax. I was involved with Concert Band and Orchestras for 25 years and my passion now is not only to make the playing of the music fun, but also make it interesting & different for the audience.
When we started in 2014, we had a small mix of string, brass and woodwind. However, in the last couple of years, the makeup has changed and whilst the brass & woodwind sections have grown really well, we unfortunately don't have any string instruments at the moment. Therefore, we are currently playing more "Concert Band" music rather than "Orchestra". On that note, we have not yet acquired any Trombonist if there are any out there who want to give us a try?
If you can pay - or used to play - why not pop along and see us.
